Recapture the Magic
September 24 & 25, 2010
Red Deer Lodge, Red Deer, AB
Featured Clinician: Scott McBride-Smith
Remember the wide-eyed enthusiasm your students had at their first few lessons? And the excitement you felt when you first started exploring music together? What if you could recapture the magic in the middle years so that lessons at the intermediate level are just as exciting? This year's APTA conference aims to do exactly that. Together we will become better acquainted with the music of Chopin so we can share our new-found enthusiasm with our students. We will try out the Baroque dance steps and return back to our studios eager to bring these dances to life at the keyboard. We will attempt to make our studios more technology-friendly so we engage the interest of our already tech-savvy teens. We will learn how to teach our students to practice efficiently and to really listen to the sound they produce at the piano, so that they can gain independence and confidence in those days between lessons. Although our focus is on the middle years, we are sure you'll find something for all levels at our 17th annual conference.
